Subcutaneously, My Dear Watson -- Sherlock Holmes and the Cocaine Habit
by Jack Tracy and Jim Berkey. A detailed study of the use of cocaine in Arthur Conan
Doyle's immortal Detective stories. It provides an insight into the attitudes prevalent in
the late nineteenth century toward the use of and addiction to cocaine. The authors trace
the effects of Holmes's drug habit on his career as a detective and on his relationship
with Doctor Watson. The concise and interesting style is enhanced by many illustrations
giving graphic historical perspective to the narrative. The book is a must for the Holmes
buff and for those interested in early Anglo-American beliefs about cocaine and its
effects. 89pp, 5"x8", pub 1978, illustrated.

Corsage: A Bouquet of Rex Stout
and Nero Wolfe - Ephemera
In 1977 we published the limited edition Rex Stout Nero Wolfe book, Corsage: A Bouquet
of Rex Stout and Nero Wolfe. This limited edition of 276 hard bound and 1500 soft
bound books became a collectors item almost immediately. Copies of the hard bound go for
upwards of $500.00 apiece. Corsage contained an Interview with Rex Stout, the first book
publication of the Nero Wolfe novella Bitter End, and a reprint of the
article Why Nero Wolfe Loves Orchids. Below, we offer three related items for Stout
and Wolfe fans.

Nero Wolfe Corsage Cover Art Print (Numbered Limited Edition): In 1977, at the time of original publication of Corsage, we produced a 500 copy, numbered, limited edition poster of the cover art for Corsage (art only, no text on print). We promptly lost the box in which they were stored, after selling only a handful. Well, we found it and they are available on a first come first serve basis. This black and white print is printed on heavy paper suitable for framing. A great gift for any Rex Stout and Nero Wolfe fan.

Original Corrected Corsage Dust Jackets When Corsage was first printed, the hard bound dust jacket was printed about 1/2 inch off, which affected the appearance of the title on the spine. We immediately ordered a corrected jacket from the printer and placed them over the original, flawed dust jacket. A few of the hard bounds were shipped without the corrected dust jacket. In the same box that contained the print above, we have discovered 21 of the original corrected Corsage dust jacket. These are in near mint condition. These are being offered as a collectors piece for a Wolfe/Stout fan or as an extra protective cover or replacement for any owner of Corsage. We considered marking these to differentiate them from the original, but since they ARE the originals, we have not done so. A mint dust jacket will increase the value of any collectible, these would make a GREAT present for the owner of a hard bound copy of Corsage or for a Stout fan who hopes to acquire a copy some day. There only 19 available and when these are gone there are no more.
DustJacket $40.00 incl. shipping rolled in stiff tube, add 5% MD sales tax = $2.00 Total = $42.00
