SJTHP Scraper Jones

Scraper Jones Treasure Hunter is a story of planes, airboats, hurricanes, explosives, and treasure hunting. The book contains no graphic violence, no vulgarity, and no adult situations. The book is a suitable read for mature teens and young adults.

The main character, Scraper Jones, is a common household name. His band of fellow treasure hunters is made up of six diversified individuals living on the edge. Professor, a researching genius, has earned millions researching treasure leads for the most successful treasure hunters in the world, now he wants to get out of his lab and join the action. Chickenman Pete, a desert rat, never sleeps under a roof, steals for his keep, and has connections throughout the Desert Southwest that can supply the unique requirements of professional treasure hunters. Hardman, a former hard rock miner, is desert-wise, a worthy foe, and knows the Desert Southwest as well as any man. Patch, a one-eyed ladies-man millionaire society dropout, is interested only in the dangers of the hunt. Marlow, a demolition expert, constantly overestimates the correct amount of high explosives with often devastating results. Rounding out the group is Willie Bradshaw, Marlow's friend, partner, and fellow ex-Navy Seal. Willie is a professional with a strong back and rough past who is always there when needed..

These six follow a treasure lead from the Desert Southwest to the eye of hurricane Andrew in the southern bayous of Louisiana. Along the way they encounter twists and turns, unscrupulous underworld drug lords, desert rigors, and hurricane nightmares that would send lesser men fleeing for their lives. Following in the tradition of "Doc" Savage's daring ensemble adventurers, sprinkled with  the rogue twists of modern skirt-the-law adventurers a la Ocean's 11and The Italian Job, and with just a touch of gritty reality of The Treasure of the Sierra Madre you'll find few dull moments in the company of Scraper Jones: Treasure Hunter
